Preview: Chazy Eagles vs. Keene Central Beavers
The Chazy Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Keene Central Beavers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Chazy pushed their score all the way to 61 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-61 to Crown Point.
Meanwhile, Keene Central pushed their score all the way to 59 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Boquet Valley.
Despite the loss, Keene Central had strong showings from Asa Sprague, who scored 22 points, and Peter Robjent, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vann Morrelli, who scored ten points.
Chazy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. As for Keene Central, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.
Chazy was able to grind out a solid victory over Keene Central in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 53-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chazy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
