Baseball Recap: Calvary Chapel's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Calvary Chapel dropped their record down to 7-8 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 12-5 to The Webb Schools Gauls. If the Grizzlies were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Gauls when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for The Webb Schools, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 2-14. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For The Webb Schools' part, Jaxu Bohn made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). Bohn has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mikey Pino, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Alec Kaushal was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
