Basketball Recap: Baker Comes Up Short

Baker came up into this matchup off a tough 22-point defeat last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Northeast Vikings by a score of 45-42 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Northeast's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Derrick Cavalier led the charge by putting up 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Sampson, who posted eight points along with 13 rebounds and seven steals.

Baker now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Northeast, their record now sits at 6-12.

Baker didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-38 defeat against West Feliciana on the 4th. As for Northeast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-45 victory against North Iberville on the 4th.
