After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last seven contests, Phoenix finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 8-2 to the Grants Pass Cavemen. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Phoenix saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Destiny Christlieb, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Phoenix's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Grants Pass, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8.

Coming up, Phoenix will head out on the road to square off against North Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Grants Pass, they will square off against South Medford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cavemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
