Softball Recap: Albany Cougars vs. St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins
After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Albany brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They never let the St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Caroline Snyder made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. She was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Tehya Hancock looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.

Back at the plate, Samirah Bowie was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Jones, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
