Baseball Game Preview: Molalla Indians vs. Gladstone Gladiators

The Molalla Indians will challenge the Gladstone Gladiators at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Molalla's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Gladstone's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Gladstone will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Molalla extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Indians never let Madras get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Indians have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Madras' batters probably weren't too happy with Camdyn Morey, who pitched a no hitter and racked up six Ks (he gave up three walks). Morey has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Grant Brusseau was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dillon Shultz, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Molalla was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Gladstone was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell 5-2 to The Dalles.

Gladstone's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Molalla, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

Everything went Molalla's way against Gladstone in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Molalla made off with a 9-3 win. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Gladiators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
