Volleyball Recap: Elmwood-Murdock Comes Up Short

Elmwood-Murdock had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 2-0 to the Yutan Chieftains. The Knights were not able to make up for their loss to the Chieftains from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Annie Backemeyer paced Elmwood-Murdock's offense, picking up five kills. Backemeyer got some help from Lucy Backemeyer and her nine assists. Jaymes Sampson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Yutan has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Elmwood-Murdock didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Weeping Water on the 28th. As for Yutan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Syracuse on the 2nd.
