Football Game Preview: Trousdale County Yellowjackets vs. Cannon County Lions

After each having a week off, the Trousdale County Yellowjackets and the Cannon County Lions will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Trousdale County turned things around against Monterey last Friday. They blew past the Wildcats 35-14.

Meanwhile, Cannon County made easy work of Warren County last Friday and carried off a 50-27 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.

A big part of Cannon County's victory came down to the chemistry between Eli Garrett and his top target Miles Alexander. Garrett threw for 156 yards and three TDs while Alexander picked up 100 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Alexander also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles and defending one pass.

Cannon County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 384 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Trousdale County picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-7. As for Cannon County, their record is now 6-3.
