Softball Recap: Polo Wins Going Away Against Ashton-Franklin Center

Polo won the last time they faced Ashton-Franklin Center and things went their way on Friday too. The Marcos blew past the Raiders 9-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Marcos.

Cheyenna (Chey) Wilkins was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Polo let Brylee Laskowski and Izabella (Bella) Witkowski run wild. Laskowski went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Witkowski went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Witkowski has posted since back in April of 2024. Avalyn Henry was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Polo hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ashton-Franklin Center struck out 12 times.

Polo's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Ashton-Franklin Center, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.

Coming up, Polo will take on Eastland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ashton-Franklin Center, they will welcome Serena at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
