Soccer Recap: Union Pines Starts Season with Loss at Home

Union Pines unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Fike Golden Demons on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The contest was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Union Pines it sure didn't stay that way.

Looking ahead, Union Pines will head out to square off against Pine Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fike, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 1-1 draw against Pender on the 15th.
