Volleyball Recap: Troy's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

Troy had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Athens Wildcats by a score of 3-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win on September 6th.

Troy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-21.

Haidyn Watson paced Troy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Watson got some help from Brenna Jackson and her 15 assists. Finally, Aryana Andrus kept Troy's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Troy's win bumped their record up to 13-2-1. As for Athens, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9-1.

Coming up, Troy will face off against North Penn-Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Athens, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Selinsgrove on the 27th.
