After a string of three wins, Payton College Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sycamore Spartans.

Payton College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Sycamore, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Payton College Prep will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Northside at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Sycamore, they will take on LaSalle-Peru at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Sycamore will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
