Basketball Recap: Norfolk Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Norfolk Academy had won two straight games and Maria Delyannis did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Norfolk Academy Bulldogs enjoyed a cozy 39-20 victory over the Christchurch School Seahorses thanks in part to Delyannis, who went 7 of 17 on her way to 16 points and four steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Norfolk Academy's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Harvey, who posted seven points and ten rebounds. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Norfolk Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Christchurch School, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Norfolk Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Collegiate at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Christchurch School, they and Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
