Softball Recap: Hatch Valley Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mccurdy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hatch Valley). They were the clear victors by a 22-12 margin over the McCurdy Bobcats on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Maggie Reyes was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 5-for-5. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Yaneisy Carranza, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Reyes wasn't the only one making solid contact: Hatch Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The Bears are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Hatch Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for McCurdy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Hatch Valley has already played their next match, a 19-2 win against Newcomb on the 5th. As for McCurdy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 20-1 defeat against Estancia on the 5th.
