Baseball Recap: Lane Tech Picks Up 11th Consecutive Win

Lane Tech had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Simeon Wolverines by a score of 4-1 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Champions sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

Dodger Friedrich looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Alex Zeigler was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Trapp, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Lane Tech's win bumped their record up to 24-9. As for Simeon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 16-11-1 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lane Tech will square off against Nazareth Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Simeon, they will challenge Hyde Park at 4:30 p.m. on the 28th. The Wolverines are facing the Thunderbirds at the right time seeing as the Thunderbirds are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
