Special teams played a big role in the game for Northwest Area, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Diltz, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Northwest Area picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
