Football Recap: Enloe Eagles vs. Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs
Enloe unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs on Friday, falling 50-21. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-13.
Although Enloe took the loss, they still got scores from Alex Chapman-Evans, Leo Gorga, and Ziyeir Mclean-Leach.
Enloe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ian Dobbin and Ryan Person.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Christian Freeman and James Adams IV. Freeman gained 213 total yards and three touchdowns while Adams IV rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Tydreke Powell Jr. was another key player, throwing for 257 yards and a pair of TDs on only 19 passes.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Enloe is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Knightdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast Raleigh, they will head out to square off against Dudley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
