Baseball Game Preview: Tuscola Warriors vs. Salt Fork Storm

The Tuscola Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Salt Fork Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Tuscola's offense. They lost 14-0 to Fisher on Tuesday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Salt Fork). They put the hurt on Heritage with a sharp 28-8 win on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Storm with their most commanding win of the season.

Eli Wear was excellent, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden Norton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Salt Fork always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .745. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Salt Fork pushed their record up to 11-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Tuscola, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.
