Football Recap: Ridgeland Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Ridgeland extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 2-7. They had to suffer through a 52-21 loss at the hands of the Northwest Whitfield Bruins. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-0.

Although Ridgeland took the loss, they still got scores from Cornell Watkins, Mo Stephens, and Jacob Bell.

As for Northwest Whitfield, their record is now 7-3. Considering they have won six matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Northwest Whitfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gavin Nuckolls, who threw for 188 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes. Nuckolls' passing game has become a key predictor of the Bruins' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Gage Parker was another key rusher, rushing for 98 yards and a pair of scores.

Coming up, Ridgeland will host Gilmer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Whitfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
