Softball Recap: Rocky Hill Comes Up Short

If Rocky Hill was riding high fresh off their 15-1 takedown of New Britain on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Terriers fell just short of the Newington Nor'easters by a score of 8-7 on Wednesday. The Terriers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Nor'easters from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Peyton Morello and Ally Killoran did some serious damage despite the final result: Morello went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Killoran went 3-for-4 with two runs. Lianna Tejada was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Rocky Hill's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Newington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.

Looking ahead, Rocky Hill will take on Wethersfield at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Newington, they will square off against Plainville at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
