Recap: Conifer Lobos vs. Evergreen Cougars

The Conifer Lobos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 57-44 to Evergreen. Conifer found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 11 fewer assists than your opponent.

Conifer's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Issac Pratt, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Benson White was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.

Conifer struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They are winless (0-4) when they just don't pass the ball.

Evergreen got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lukas Mccanna out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Beeson, who scored nine points along with three steals.

Conifer has not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Evergreen, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-12.

Conifer will be playing in front of their home fans against Golden at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Golden is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season. As for Evergreen, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Littleton at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Evergreen focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday.
