Metairie Park Country Day's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against St. Charles Catholic as Metairie Park Country Day made off with a 4-0 win. The Cajuns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Newman faced St. Scholastica in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Newman fell just short of St. Scholastica by a score of 2-1. The Greenies were red-hot offensively headed into the contest (they scored no less than four goals in the four matchups prior) but the Doves' defense proved too tough.

The victory got Metairie Park Country Day back to even at 5-5-3. As for Newman, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-3-2.

Metairie Park Country Day might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Newman in their previous matchup back in January of 2024.
