Washington and Chillicothe are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Blue Lions will host the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Chillicothe likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Washington strolled past McClain with points to spare, taking the game 42-27.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Haithcock, who picked up 150 receiving yards and three scores. Sam Pfeifer was another key signal caller, throwing for 221 yards and four TDs.

Washington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as J'Vion Gatewood, Javin Baker, and Matthew Colflesh picked up one apiece. Colflesh got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Chillicothe and Miami Trace, and Miami Trace kept the tradition alive. The Cavaliers took a hard 35-21 fall against the Panthers on Friday. The Cavaliers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Washington's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Chillicothe, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Washington came out on top in a nail-biter against Chillicothe in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, sneaking past 28-26. Do the Blue Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
