Basketball Recap: Seekonk Comes Up Short

Seekonk played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders and fell 78-39. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.

Despite the loss, Seekonk still got an impressive performance from Travis Pereira, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds. Pereira has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Johnny Payne was another key player, putting up six points and seven rebounds.

It was another big night for Colten Pacheco, who went 9 of 13 on his way to 24 points and three steals for Somerset Berkley Regional. Those 24 points gave Pacheco a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Carpenter, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 15 points.

Seekonk's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Seekonk will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairhaven at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, they will venture away from home to take on Dighton-Rehoboth Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
