Harlem extended their postseason success on Thursday against Lakes. They snuck past the Eagles with a 26-20 victory. The win was nothing new for the Huskies as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Hari Young had another great game (as she tends to do), rushing for 69 yards and one score on only seven carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Harlem's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Hailey Murath.
Lakes' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makayla Williams, who rushed for 64 yards and one TD on only eight carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Loar, who threw for 220 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73% of her passes.
Harlem's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 16-5.
Harlem didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 38-18 win against Cary-Grove on the 13th. Lakes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
