Baseball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Triumphs

Dow typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Mt. Pleasant proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Chargers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 on Monday.

Mt. Pleasant let Chase Willey and Aryan Punjabi run wild. Willey went 4-for-5 with one run and one RBI, while Punjabi got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those four hits gave Willey a new career-high.

Mt. Pleasant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dow only posted a batting average of .211.

The victory made it two in a row for Mt. Pleasant and bumps their season record up to 8-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Dow, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4.

Mt. Pleasant will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
