Steward is a perfect 6-0 against Peninsula Catholic since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Spartans will host the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Peninsula Catholic took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Steward, who comes in off a win.

Steward took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over Fredericksburg Christian. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Peninsula Catholic's offense. They came up short against Life Christian Academy on Thursday, falling 13-0. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Peninsula Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Simon Payntar, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Steward's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Peninsula Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Steward took their win against Peninsula Catholic in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 29-0 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
