Valor Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Peyton Jones, who went 10 for 18 en route to 26 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Jones' eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Quinn VanSickle, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten assists.
Valor Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Arvada West faced Columbine in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Arvada West walked away with a 41-33 win over Columbine.
Arvada West's win came from a few key players Valor Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Saylor Swanson, who went 7 of 17 on her way to 15 points along with six boards and three steals. Sara Walker was another key player, putting up two points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds.
Arvada West's victory bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Valor Christian, their win bumped their record up to an identical 15-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Valor Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Arvada West struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
