IV Section I recap November 5, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in IV Section I this week, Winslow beat Page 45-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bulldogs.
Winslow took down the Sand Devils 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. James Martinez threw for 131 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 37 yards in the win.
Redmond Delmar threw for 316 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 20-33 with 0 interceptions.
Brandon Nez made the biggest impact on defense this week as Monument Valley bested Chinle. The 5-foot-5 senior forced 2 fumbles, recorded 1 fumble and grabbed 3 sacks.
Keanu Mitchell was the best wideout in the league this week as the Mustangs beat the Wildcats. Mitchell racked up 9 receptions for 198 yards. Nez helped Monument Valley's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 42 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Monument Valley's Delmar and Mitchell have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Delmar has thrown for 2,481 yards this season, while Mitchell has 46 catches for 922 yards. Delano (Tony) Walker from Window Rock leads the league in rushing with 1,548 yards.
Bryan M. Begay's team's Mitchell needs only 78 receiving yards against Blue Ridge to crack 1,000 for the season. So far this year, he has garnered 46 catches for 922 yards.
BJ Little's team led IV Section I in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Page. Martinez ran for 37 yards during the win.
