The Weston Ranch Cougars will take on the Chavez Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chavez took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Weston Ranch, who comes in off a win.
Weston Ranch's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against McNair as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Ruben Sandoval made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Weston Ranch's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 5-11 when he doesn't). Sandoval was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Anthony (AJ) Arias and Nicolas (Nico) Orona did most of the damage at the plate: Arias went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Orona went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Arias has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ethan Linares, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Weston Ranch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McNair only posted a batting average of .125.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Chavez's offense. They came up short against Edison on Friday, falling 15-0. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Weston Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Weston Ranch has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Chavez struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Weston Ranch was able to grind out a solid win over Chavez when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 12-7. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
