Softball Recap: Chalker Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Chalker took on Bristol on Tuesday. The Wildcats walked away with a 12-8 win over the Panthers. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Tatum Hudak made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Grimm, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Julia Ross also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Chalker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Chalker's record now sits at 6-2. As for Bristol, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Chalker has already played their next game, a 4-0 defeat against Mathews on the 23rd. As for Bristol, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-0 loss against Maplewood on the 23rd.
