Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Liberty and Philip Barbour squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Liberty had to settle for second. They were dealt an 85-30 loss at the hands of the Philip Barbour Colts. The Mountaineers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it seven in a row.

Philip Barbour found their leader in sophomore Izzy Knotts, who shot 73% from the field on her way to 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Knotts has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Wilmoth, who went 5-for-8 en route to 15 points.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Philip Barbour, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Philip Barbour, they will take on Petersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Philip Barbour has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
