Baseball Recap: Sunlake's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Sunlake's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Mitchell Mustangs get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Seahawks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Wyatt Dion looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sunlake is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Santino Aliberti was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Dominic Italiano also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The win got Sunlake back to even at 8-8. As for Mitchell, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunlake will take on Zephyrhills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunlake is facing Zephyrhills at the right time seeing as Zephyrhills is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mitchell, they will square off against Anclote at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
