Basketball Recap: East Liverpool Comes Up Short

East Liverpool played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Bellaire Big Reds, falling 61-27. While losing is never fun, the Potters can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 454th, while the Big Reds are ranked 118th).

It was another big night for Zara Harveth, who went 7 for 15 en route to 23 points along with eight steals and five rebounds for Bellaire. Harveth's afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rhyan O'Grady, who posted 12 points and six boards.

This is the second loss in a row for East Liverpool and nudges their season record down to 7-10. As for Bellaire, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

East Liverpool has already played their next game, a 60-37 defeat against Linsly on the 20th. As for Bellaire, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-21 win against Buckeye Local on the 20th.
