Vintage entered their tilt with St. Francis on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Troubadours with a sharp 9-3 win. Nine seems to be a good number for the Crushers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Angie Rubalcava made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Malina Viruet was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Ella Gomez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.
Vintage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Francis only posted a batting average of .273.
Vintage's record now sits at 12-4. As for St. Francis, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
Looking ahead, Vintage will challenge Manteca at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buffaloes' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Crushers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Francis, they will take on Folsom at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
