Basketball Preview: Lake Mead Academy Eagles vs. Lincoln County Lynx
Having just played yesterday, the Lake Mead Academy Eagles will get right back to it and host the Lincoln County Lynx at 1:30 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Lake Mead Academy is ranked 41st, while the Lynx are ranked 51st).
After a string of six wins, Lake Mead Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to White Pine 46-41.
The losing side was boosted by Aliyah Harris, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Newton, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Lincoln County can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past GV Christian 51-22 on the road. With Lincoln County ahead 25-5 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Lake Mead Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Lincoln County, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-12.
Lake Mead Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lynx in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 39-37. Does Lake Mead Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lynx turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
