Basketball Recap: Grant Latino's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Archbishop Rummel over Brother Martin

Archbishop Rummel's game on Monday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Brother Martin Crusaders by a score of 28-26. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Raiders came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Crusaders are ranked 152nd).

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grant Latino, who went 5 for 7 en route to 10 points and five rebounds. Jackson Cosentino was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Archbishop Rummel's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Brother Martin, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-14.

Archbishop Rummel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-50 victory against Jesuit on the 28th. As for Brother Martin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-46 defeat against John Curtis Christian on the 28th.
