Basketball Recap: South Barber Chieftains vs. Minneola Wildcats
South Barber and Minneola squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but South Barber had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 56-39 to the Minneola Wildcats. The Chieftains' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it eight in a row.
Minneola got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braegen Shelor out in front who went 6-for-14 on her way to 21 points and six rebounds. Shelor continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maiya Granados, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards.
South Barber's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12-2. As for Minneola, they moved to 6-15 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
