It was a good run, but Sam Houston unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-match winning streak on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Mary's Dominican. The shutout was out of character for the Broncos seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

St. Mary's Dominican found their leader in sophomore Addison Shannon, who had nine digs and two aces.

Sam Houston's loss dropped their record down to 23-9. As for St. Mary's Dominican, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 34-4.

Sam Houston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Mary's Dominican, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Notre Dame on the 31st.
