Volleyball Recap: Asheboro's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Asheboro entered their tilt with Northeast Guilford on Monday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Rams. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-0 win last Tuesday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Asheboro took every set by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-8, 25-9.

Leading Asheboro to victory were Lydia Scearce and Emma Ingold. Scearce had three digs and three aces, while Ingold had eight digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Asheboro was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 23 aces. They are 14-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Asheboro's record now sits at 17-6. As for Northeast Guilford, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.

Looking ahead, Asheboro will head out on the road to face off against Southeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast Guilford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
