Recap: Canton Central Catholic Crusaders vs. Kirtland Hornets

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Canton Central Catholic Crusaders, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 48-26 walloping at the hands of Kirtland on Friday. Canton Central Catholic was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brennan Betz, who threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Dan Boron, who picked up 136 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Canton Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Kirtland, their victory was their fifth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Canton Central Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kirtland will play host again and welcome Cuyahoga Heights, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cuyahoga Heights is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
