Baseball Game Preview: Walhalla Razorbacks vs. Woodmont Wildcats

The Walhalla Razorbacks will head out on the road to challenge the Woodmont Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Walhalla has six straight victories, Woodmont has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, Walhalla beat West-Oak 10-6. With that win, the Razorbacks brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Nate Sanchez was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Justin Lusk also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Woodmont came up short against Greenwood on Tuesday, falling 7-1.

Walhalla's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Woodmont, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Walhalla came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodmont in their previous matchup back in April of 2019, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Razorbacks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
