Basketball Recap: Washington Skates Past Sullivan with Ease

Washington not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since January 9th (when they won 66-15). They breezed past the Sullivan Golden Arrows to the tune of 58-14. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hatchets also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Leading Washington to victory were Katie Reed and London Gilley. Reed went 8-for-10 en route to 24 points and eight rebounds, while Gilley shot 45% from the field to rack up 15 points and three steals. The contest was Reed's sixth in a row with at least 18 points. Shay Hawk was another key player, putting up six points.

The win made it two in a row for Washington and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 54 points in those games. As for Sullivan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Washington won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tecumseh at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hatchets will be up against the Braves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sullivan, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Edgewood at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
