Baseball Recap: Mandeville Comes Up Short

Mandeville was the 11-8 winner over Newman when they last played one another back in March of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Skippers fell 5-2 to the Greenies on Monday.

Mandeville's defeat dropped their record down to 23-9. As for Newman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Mandeville and Newman are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Skippers will challenge Airline on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mandeville 4.1, the Vikings 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Newman, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Lutcher at 7:00 p.m.
