Volleyball Recap: Pickerington North Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pickerington North had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Westerville Central Warhawks. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Warhawks: they've now won three in a row.

Pickerington North was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-27, 25-19, 15-10.

Among those leading the charge was Gavin Venetta, who had 16 digs and two assists. That's the most assists he has posted since back in April.

Pickerington North pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Westerville Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-20.

Coming up, Pickerington North will square off against Big Walnut at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. Westerville Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
