Football Recap: Sunset Drops Highest Score of Season Against Adams

Sunset had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 4-5 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Adams Cougars by a score of 44-37. The Bison's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

As for Adams, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. The defeat was just more heartbreak for they who fell 20-18 when the teams previously met back in September of 2023.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Greg Nash Jr, who picked up 114 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 32 yards and one TD. Nash Jr didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made seven total tackles. Joseph 'Jp Marsh was another key signal caller, throwing for 335 yards and two touchdowns.

Coming up, Sunset will square off against West Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bison will need to watch out since the Wranglers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Adams, they will take on Molina at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
