Softball Recap: Capital Falls Short Against Ranked Rocky Mountain

Capital faced Rocky Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Golden Eagles fell 6-2 to the Grizzlies. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

McKenna Chavez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Lizzy Turpen also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Capital's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Rocky Mountain, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Capital will challenge rival Ridgevue at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain is set to face off against their familiar foe Borah at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
