Basketball Recap: Kevin Galvez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carnegie over Lookeba-Sickles

Carnegie was the 46-43 winner over Lookeba-Sickles when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Carnegie Wildcats took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lookeba-Sickles Panthers on Thursday. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kevin Galvez, who went 6 of 13 en route to 13 points and five rebounds. Galvez also posted a block, marking his first of the season. Uzziah Ahhaitty was another key player, putting up ten points and six steals.

Carnegie's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Lookeba-Sickles, their record now sits at 5-13.

Carnegie will face off against Santa Fe South Pathways Middle College at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carnegie is facing Santa Fe South Pathways Middle College at the right time seeing as Santa Fe South Pathways Middle College is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. Lookeba-Sickles has already played their next contest, an 80-35 defeat against Apache on the 25th.
