Recap: Elizabeth Cardinals vs. Falcon Falcons
The Elizabeth Cardinals pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The match between Elizabeth and Falcon wasn't particularly close, with Elizabeth falling 75-59. Elizabeth has not had much luck with Falcon recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Elizabeth lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Stone, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Diessen Lindsay, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Elizabeth were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. This was only their ninth loss (out of 12 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Falcon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eric Graham, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Graham has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Christian Bertholf was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 13 rebounds.
Elizabeth has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Falcon, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elizabeth will face off against Littleton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Falcon, they will head out on the road to face off against Mitchell at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Mitchell comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
