Soccer Recap: Mt. Vernon Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets came up short against the Westerville South Wildcats on Saturday and fell 4-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Mt. Vernon came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Westerville South are ranked 309th).

Mt. Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 7-4-3. As for Westerville South, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-8-1.

The future could be bright for both Mt. Vernon and Westerville South: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Yellowjackets will try to hand Heath their fourth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Westerville South will look to extend Grove City's four-game losing streak when they meet at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
